about us.

a family caregiving coaching business.

So many things and factors influence the life of a family caregiver. Most are unprepared for their caregiver role and the impact it may have on their health and well-being. Being someone who has personally gone through caring for a family member, I know how difficult it can be. Statistics show that caregivers are often stressed, exhausted and put themselves last.

My business exists to help family caregivers care for themselves while caring for others with a personalized approach from a coach.

My company was started in October 2017 and rebranded as Silent Heroes in 2020. I am a certified caregiver consultant with over 30 years of experience working with older adults and their families.

I have worked in both community and long term care settings in my early years as a personal support worker and then in therapeutic recreation. I have also had a rewarding career spanning 13 years at the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region in my roles as a Family Support and Public Education Coordinator. I facilitated over 100 caregiver supports groups and delivered 500+ classes on a variety of dementia related topics and caregiver wellness/coping.

I am also a trained class leader for Central East LHIN program Powerful Tools for Caregivers, a self-management program for caregivers. In 2018, I joined SE Health & Elizz as a bilingual caregiver coach. I get to coach and mentor family caregivers from across Canada by phone and write caregiver blog articles for Elizz .

For over 9 years, in my own life, I cared for my mother who lived with dementia... so I understand. I have seen lives get turned upside down, and reality completely changed. I want caregivers to know that they are not alone, despite how alienated they might feel. As a partner in caregiving, I am in this and ready to join caregivers in their journey towards a healthier, happier life.
